Fruit Crop Pest Management | New York Approval #NY-24-426622

Instructor: Sarah Racine

Pesticides are mainly used on fruit crops to protect plants and animals from insects, nematodes, weeds, and diseases. However, they can also improve the efficiency of food production and provide for greater crop yields. This lesson, which has been approved by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, outlines various invasive pests of fruit crops and how an applicator can effectively treat infestations while protecting themselves and maintaining productive fruit crop yields intended for human consumption.

After completing this course users will be able to:

  • Operate and properly calibrate various types of application equipment.
  • Identify invasive pests of fruit crops, including insects, weeds, diseases, and nematodes.
  • Outline effective practices for the management of various pest populations.
