This course discusses managing aquatic pests in New York . It contains extensive plant identification and discusses common weed types and species. Other pests, such as insects or birds, are also covered. Moreover, the course, approved by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, explains various control methods and outlines how to use pesticides safely with first aid techniques for any exposure. Lastly, we discuss equipment calibration and explore example scenarios.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the laws and regulations surrounding aquatic pesticide use.
- Discuss the risks involved with pesticide use and methods for reducing risk and managing any exposures that should occur.
- Calculate the area, rate, and quantity of pesticides for underwater use.
