Review of Pesticide Use Hazards | Nevada Approval #NV-23-208
Instructor: Sarah Racine
Pesticide exposure can be dangerous to humans, pets, wildlife, plants, and water sources. This one-credit course, approved by the Nevada Department of Agriculture, contains crucial training on the toxicity and hazards of pesticides. From pet injury to phytotoxicity in flora, this course will equip you to understand and avoid pesticide dangers.
Become familiar with factors that influence toxicity, the three categories of toxicity and pesticide designations by use and target organisms. Use that knowledge to recognize exposure in humans, test animals for toxicity determination, and create strategies to avoid accidental exposure to non-target organisms.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- State appropriate measures to take in case of pesticide accidents.
- Explain pesticide toxicity and the different hazards of human pesticide exposure.
- Recognize strategies to minimize excessive pesticide exposure risk to pets, plants and the environment.
- Describe the characteristics of various pesticide formulations.
