Pest ID of Common Landscape, Turf, and Interiorscape Pests | Nevada Approval #NV-23-364
Instructor: Sarah Racine
During this two-hour course, you’ll learn how to identify and control common pests found in interiorscape, landscape, and turf settings. All course material is approved by the Nevada Department of Agriculture.
The course opens with an overview of common pest types. Learn identification and control methods for invertebrates like arthropods (insects, spiders, mites, and others) with lessons that describe body structure, developmental stages, and proper treatment strategies.
Vertebrate pest control lessons come next with strategies for gophers, rabbits, and moles. Managing disease-causing pathogens like fungi, bacteria, and viruses is also discussed.
Effectively fight weeds and other nuisance plants by learning about the obstacles that prevent proper control. Discover why crabgrass, dandelions, and clover spread so rapidly. A weed’s life cycles, development, classification, and physical features (flowers, leaves, stems, roots, and seeds) are also explained.
The course finishes with lessons explaining how to identify and manage specific pests in different environments.
Interiorscape pests discussed include:
- Spider mites
- Aphids
- Fungus gnats
- Mealybugs
For landscape and turf, learn how to manage:
- Moles and voles
- Japanese beetles
- Cutworms
- Master grubs
- Deer
Nevada pesticide applicators who finish this course will be able to effectively identify and control the common pests that threaten vibrant plant settings.
