Common Landscape Pests of the West Coast | Nevada Approval #NV-23-210
Instructor: Sarah Racine
One of the most crucial aspects of pest management is the identification of both the pest and the potential damage the pest can cause. Misidentification of a pest can result in choosing the wrong treatment or application method. Also, it is vital to correctly identify plants to protect them from pests and use a pesticide that won't hurt the landscape.
This continuing education course will teach participants how to evaluate, identify, and treat pests in landscape, turf, and interiorscape settings. It emphasizes the following common landscape pests: vertebrates, weeds, invertebrates, and disease agents.
After taking this Nevada Department of Agriculture-approved course, students will:
- Recognize which pest development stage requires treatment.
- Differentiate the identifying characteristics and symptoms of pests.
- Understand the steps to send pest samples to a lab for identification.
