Pesticide Emergency Management and Environmental Protection | New Jersey DEP Approval #035499
Instructor: Sarah Racine
Safe use is the first step to preventing hazardous pesticide exposure and environmental damage. This one-credit course is approved by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to teach strategies for emergency management and environmental protection.
Always practice safe planning. Chemical selection, application techniques, equipment use, cleanup and disposal all have a part to play in hazard mitigation. Even your choice of containers is critical when storing, mixing and transporting pesticides.
Stay ahead of potential dangers with a full management plan and public notices of pesticide use. When possible, use non-toxic pest management tools.
Learn how to respond to pesticide emergencies. From response strategies and containment protocols to first aid, this course will walk you through hazard management. You’ll know just what to do when leaks, spills, or misapplications result in exposure to skin, clothing, the respiratory system or eyes.
