Instructor: Sarah Racine
Safe pesticide use protects people and the environment from dangerous hazards. This one-credit course teaches the essentials of safe, legal pesticide application.
When pesticide use is necessary, it is important to always use a management plan. Notifications and warning signs are important tools that safeguard the public. Discover suitable containers for pesticide transport, long-term storage and chemical mixing.
From pre-planning to incident management, this course covers pesticide use from beginning to end. Careful selection of chemical use — including non-toxic pesticide alternatives — is just the beginning. Equipment use, application techniques, cleanup, disposal, recordkeeping and liability are all part of safe pesticide use.
Leaks, spills and misapplications may require swift action and first aid. Learn how to provide simple treatments for exposure to skin, clothing, eyes and the respiratory system.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
– Identify pesticide safety measures to protect people and the environment from pesticide exposure.
