Pest ID of Common Landscape, Turf, and Interiorscape Pests | Georgia Approval #R24-0474
Instructor: Sarah Racine
Learn how to identify and control pests found in landscape, turf, and interiorscape environments with this two-hour course. All lesson material is approved by the Georgia Department of Agriculture.
The course begins by explaining how to identify and manage invertebrate pests like arthropods (insects, mites, spiders, and other groups). Lessons describe body structure, developmental stages, and targeted treatment strategies. Lessons also discuss how to manage vertebrate pests like gophers, rabbits, and moles alongside disease-causing pathogens like viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
A portion of the course is dedicated to identifying and managing weeds and other nuisance plants. See what obstacles can prevent effective control and why dandelions, crabgrass, and clover spread rapidly. Weed development, classification, life cycles, and physical features (flowers, leaves, stems, roots, and seeds) are also described.
At the end of the course, learn strategies for identifying and managing specific pests in different environments. Discover how to manage spider mites, fungus gnats, aphids, and mealybugs within interiorscapes. For landscape and turf, master grub, cutworm, Japanese beetle, mole, vole, and deer management.
Lessons sprinkle in quizzes that are designed to test your knowledge and make sure you can apply everything you’ve learned.
Georgia pest control professionals who complete this course will master the identification and control techniques required to maintain lively plant settings.
