Pest ID of Common Landscape, Turf, and Interiorscape Pests | Florida Approval #37126
Instructor: Sarah Racine
This two-hour course explains how to identify and control pests found in landscape, turf, and interiorscape environments. All lessons are approved by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
Learn how to identify invertebrate pests like arthropods (insects, spiders, mites, and other groups) with lessons that describe body structure, developmental stages, and targeted treatment strategies.
There are also sections that discuss how to manage vertebrate pests like rabbits, gophers, and moles alongside disease-causing pathogens like viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
Some of the course covers ways to identify and manage weeds and other nuisance plants. Discover what obstacles can prevent effective control and why dandelions, crabgrass, and clover spread rapidly. Weed development, life cycles, classification, and physical features (flowers, leaves, stems, roots, and seeds) are also described.
At the end of the course, learn about strategies for identifying and managing specific pests in different environments. For interiorscapes, learn how to manage spider mites, fungus gnats, aphids, and mealybugs. For landscape and turf, grubs, cutworms, Japanese beetles, moles, voles, and deer are covered.
All lessons include quizzes designed to test your knowledge and make sure you can apply everything you’ve learned.
Pest control professionals in Florida who complete this course will master the identification and control techniques required to maintain strong and lively plant settings.
